Education must support you in becoming the person you want to be in the world

Students have a sense of how they want to contribute—school should not be in the way

To be educated is to have the freedom to live the life you want

The early-college model better fits the non-linear way students actually learn
What does it mean to be educated?
Your education should prepare you to step into and improve your community—fully activated into your own adult life.
Many of the jobs of the future don’t currently even exist. A good education develops a way of thinking that keeps you nimble and able to respond to—or even predict—what you will need for the future.

where are they now?

Why the Early College High School model?
The college model jumpstarts autonomy!
Students take ownership of their education from the enrollment process on. They decide what classes fit their interests, and unlike in conventional high schools, the college model allows them to drop classes that aren’t meeting their needs.
The college model better fits how students learn. Learning isn’t linear; flexibility allows students to build in time to process what is presented. They learn how they learn.
The college model allows students to take risks. Students develop a consciousness of what they are doing, and learn what is in their way.
